Process
By valuing the entire corn harvest to serve our food, feed and industrial customers, while reducing our environmental footprint, the starch industry is a pillar of the sustainable food system.
The starch industry is, by definition, a waste-free industry: all components of maize are used to produce useful goods with economic value. Waste sent to landfill or incineration are practically non-existent.
Industry
Through the process of wet maceration and milling, we separate all the components of the corn grain efficiently, with zero waste.
We privilege the consumption of national corn, in close partnership with Portuguese farmers. At the same time, as we are close to our suppliers, we reduce our ecological footprint by minimizing emissions associated with transport.
Focused on continuous improvement, we are committed to combining productive efficiency with the best environmental management practices.
Partners
We are associates and founding members of AMEAL – Municipal Energy and Environment Agency of Loures, a non-profit association governed by private law, whose commitment is involved in the development of the Local Strategy in the field of energy, mitigation and adaptation to climate change and the rational use of resources.
